Reports to: Adama Project Manager
Department:  Programming
Salary Grade: 7

Job Summary:

As a Project Officer_Data Management for the Adama Project, you will conduct data management for the project’s databases and Adama job-matching platform. You will practice efficient ways to organize, store and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

 

Roles and key responsibilities

·       Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.

·       Carry out day-to-day data management tasks for the Adama project databases and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to the project’s software databases.

·       Formulate techniques for quality data collection to confirm adequacy and accuracy of data. Ensure project’s indicators are recorded.

·       Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects. Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with partner staff that align with CRS standards.

·       Carry out regular data import and export for project monitoring and development of statistical reports, data visualization, including real-time reporting and trends analysis.

·       Collect information on technical assistance needs of partner organizations and monitor technical support activities to ensure effective impact.

·       Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations, and designing and implementing systems.

·       Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify procedures, solutions, and architecture.

·       Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and quality assurance to ensure application performance.

 

Basic Qualification:

·       University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field is required.

·       Minimum of 2 years of work experience in data management, or a related role. Experience of working for an NGO would be a plus.

·       Experience managing large databases.

·       Experience in coding and/or programming well-designed, testable, and efficient user interfaces.

·       Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data.

·       Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), familiarity with Commcare and Power BI is a plus.

·       Additional experience may substitute for some education.

·       Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members.

·       Attention to details, accuracy, and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities.
