About the role:

The role will focus on strategic fundraising growth, building on the existing and longstanding committed and major donors – as well as creating new initiatives to generate the levels of income.

Fundraising Manager Responsibilities:
Works to identify suitable sponsors, donors, trusts & foundations to approach, in line with Odyssea fundraising strategy 2022-2024 and its correlating proposal submission plan.
Optimizes funding by researching and targeting donors whose criteria match the Organization’s aims and activities. Produce and manage funding leads and opportunities.
Makes risk analysis and calculates time-cost ratios, in order to focus effort on the fundraising activities that are most appropriate and will have the highest chance of success.
Prepares tailored, persuasive and creative funding applications, as well as trust proposals to be submitted for corporate and trusts humanitarian funding and other grants. The applications must reflect Odyssea’s work and ethos while meeting the criteria set by the potential funder.
Writes applications and mail-shots to reach a range of potential donors and sponsors.
Maintains and develops relationships with existing, prospects donors and sponsors.
Ensures all necessary funding reports are prepared and returned in a timely manner and that all associated paperwork is filed accordingly.
Identifies and submits applications for prizes and awards that could raise the profile of Odyssea and secure funding.
By working as part of an integrated, multi-functional team, assists the execution and the delivery of the working packages which relate to existing projects.
Builds stewardship plan towards major donors.
Carries out any additional assignments as required.
Supports the CFO in budget creation processes during proposal submission stages and enables the CFO for smoother monitoring of financial monitoring of implemented programs.
Coming up with ingenious ways to raise awareness of Odyssea impact work.
Implementing a variety of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
Organizing and attending non-profit events and networking with relevant stakeholders, in close collaboration with the communication manager.

Fundraising Manager Requirements:

University degree in Social Sciences, PR, Political Sciences, Economics or equivalent. (preferably a master’s degree)
Previous experience in sales or marketing is also acceptable
3-5 years of fundraising experience or similar position in humanitarian organization;
Sound knowledge of the charity sector
Experience in time management and problem solving skills; must be able to work autonomously and in a team setting
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Excellent knowledge of English language written and oral is required; proficiency in other languages will be considered as a plus
Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously and follows through on issues in a timely manner with excellent attention for detail
Ability to work under pressure and towards tight deadlines maintaining effective performance in high pressure environments
Keen understanding of financial management, budget planning and monitoring
