You will manage, coordinate, and monitor project activities and relationships with partners and other project stakeholders to assist the achievement of the Livelihoods and Integration “Adama” Project, ensuring effective systems, processes and partnership principles are in place that support high-quality programming advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work in serving the poor and vulnerable. Your management skills and knowledge will ensure that the CP delivers high-quality programming and continuously works towards improving partnership and the impact of the Adama Project.

Roles and key responsibilities:

·         Engage and strengthen partnerships relevant to livelihoods and integration, applying appropriate application of partnership concepts, tools and approaches.

·         Lead technical and budget management, monitoring and reporting activities of Adama throughout the project cycle to ensure project design, implementation and close-out are in line with CRS quality principles and standards, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. Effectively coordinate with CRS technical advisors and consult CRS technical standards to improve the quality of Adama project management and implementation.

·         Effectively manage talent and supervise. Manage team dynamics and staff well-being. Provide coaching, strategically tailor individual development plans, contribute to the recruitment process of project staff, and complete performance management for direct reports.

·         Ensure learning properly accompanies project activities throughout the project cycle. Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities following MEAL Policy. Proactively identify issues, report them to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules.

·         Represent the organization with donors, INGO working groups, UN, relevant local partners and relevant local government and community actors for livelihoods and integration programming.

·         Coordinate activities required for ensuring the financial, material and human resources for the quality implementation of the project. Conduct periodic budget reviews and follow-up with partners on timely submission of financial reports to facilitate proper tracking of resource use. Coordinate reporting and provision of accurate and up to date information to project stakeholders.

·         Identify capacity strengthening needs of partner organizations and staff and contribute to capacity strengthening and required interventions to enhance program quality and impact.

·         Assist with preparation of trends analysis reports and disseminate results. Share expertise and provide technical input to other cross-cutting livelihoods and integration initiatives among partners, in the CP and region.

·         Review project documentation to ensure project file is complete with all required documentation and is filed per agency and donor requirements.

 

Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in International Development, International Relations or in the field of Social Sciences. Additional experience may substitute for some education.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant field-based project management experience required, with preferably at least 2-3 years working in Humanitarian Response or Refugee Integration, including previous experience with livelihoods/ employability and/or refugee-integration programming required.
  • Experience working with partners, participatory action planning, capacity building and community engagement required.
  • Experience in budget management preferred.
  • Staff management experience and abilities that are conducive to a learning environment preferred.
  • Experience in project management of large institutional donor preferred.
  • Knowledge of technical principles and concepts in refugee integration and livelihoods. General knowledge of other related disciplines to ensure proper cross-sectoral approach preferred.
  • Knowledge of capacity strengthening best practices preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write concise reports preferred.
  • Experience with program monitoring and evaluation and analysis preferred.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information management systems.

  • Strong relationship management skills with ability to influence and get buy-in from people not under direct supervision and to work with individuals in diverse geographical and cultural settings. Representation abilities.
  • Good strategic, analytical, problem-solving and systems thinking skills with capacity to see the big picture and ability to make sound judgement.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented.
  • Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities.

Required Languages: Fluency in English and Greek.

Travel : 20% in country travel as needed.

Supervisory: Integration and Livelihoods Senior Project Officer, MEAL Senior Project Officer, Data Management Officer.

Internal: Head of Programs, MEAL Technical Advisor, Regional Technical Advisor for Urban Livelihoods, other Project Managers within the CRS Greece Program Team, Senior Finance Officer, Supply Chain Manager, HR Manager.

External:  Caritas Hellas, Donor (UNHCR), Coordination Fora, Web Developer.
