Second Tree is a humanitarian organization that supports refugees in Northern Greece (Ioannina) through Education and Integration programs and trainings. Second Tree works at two refugee sites: Katsikas and Agia Eleni refugee camps.
Second Tree’s work is underpinned by a core ethos: to treat refugees as the people they are and overcome victimisation, romanticisation and stereotyping.
Second Tree provides English classes for adults in Agia Eleni and Katsikas camps. The Youth Wellbeing Program in Agia Eleni and Katsikas camps offers English lessons and social-emotional development for children aged 8-16, along with bi-monthly excursions. Community engagement activities in both camps connect refugees with locals through sports, games, and social events. Additionally, Second Tree delivers training to institutions, NGOs, and newcomers to foster trust, inclusion, and empowerment in communities.
